My name is Tim Dove and I'm a landscape photographer based in South Cumbria and a stones throw away from the Lake District National Park.
I think growing up on the edge of the Lake District has certainly defined my love and passion for Landscapes. As soon as I picked up my first camera at the age of twenty one, my natural instinct always drew me to capturing landscape images opposed to other forms of photography.
As my passion grew so did my desire to improve my skills and capture images as I saw them. This led me to buying my first 'proper camera' at the age of 34 years of age and making the conscious effort to learn about my camera. However the most important part of my development was to get out at the right times of day as much as possible and learn from the beautiful landscape around me. I can honestly say I've never looked back and I'm now absolutely hooked.
Photography has now become a major part of my life, from both a personal and business perspective. It has really given me a focus and purpose away from the stresses and strains of modern life. I can't describle the enormous sense of wellbeing I get from being out on the fells with my camera, it really has become my therapy.
I've always liked my images to represent the Lake District in all its contrasting moods, I believe you havent truly experienced the sheer beauty of the Lakes until you have seen it in all seasons and weather conditions. Its is a truly wonderous and diverse landscape and I'm so lucky to call this my home.
My images have been used on websites, social media, calendars and for marketing material for national advertising campaigns. I have had images shortlisted in the Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year awards. I now offer landscape photography 1-2-1 tuition for people wanting to take there first steps into photography or improve there existing skills and wanting to take their photography to the next level. I feel my enthusiam for both photography and the Lake District really can help people to improve there skills.
I hope you enjoy my photography as much I as enjoy being out with my camera.
